modifying: 2003 Corvette coupe
just bought the 2003 vette coupe today. its black. I need to make it electron blue like the 2002 C5 color. I am doing this to recreate my fathers car.
I need some help/ideas for: turning it from black to electron blue and getting 1/18 scale vette emblems for the hood and trunk because they will be lost in the painting.

First use paint thinner to get rid of the old paint, second, put one thin layer of primer, Finally put two or three coats of the paint color you want.

Try using paint stripper (thinner wont do anything to the kind of paint that is on your car). Get auto paint in the appropriate color (electron blue) and clear coat if you want. I don't like clear coat because it seems to dull the color if you don't sand and rub out the paint and clear coat excessively.
