Crx 88 reciever installation

This should be so easy! God why is so hard? because i have no idea what wires do what. I found the start up wire(amp kit) its a solid black one, but the rest are all multi colored and not labled. I've replaced 4 other stereos and the wires have all had some identifier markings on them. Why not these? HELP!

I need a wiring diagram or schematic that will tell me wich wires go where. oh and uh, i need some new fuses, but the honda dealer doenst carry them, they're fuse 30 and im having a hell of a time finding them. Help is appreciated.

If you are talking about radio/stereo wires go to http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t118785.html an it is post #12. You should be able to find fuses at an auto parts store.

Re: Crx 88 reciever installation

Thanks for the layout. The thing is, now I have all the connections i.e. the new harness, the stripped out old one and everything put together, but i end up with this weird wire left called an illumination wire. I'm getting no power to the new headunit i bought and I think this might be the problem but im not sure.

I have the ground, main, switched and power up sources routed to the old wires from crx, but i still ant get power. I checked and rechecked the connection chart from the12volt.com and havnt been able to find the problem. Could someone help me?

id recheck your wires, the illumation wire is for cars that have dimmable radios, crx's dont have it. sounds like you switched your ground and power wires around. id unplug everything, make sure the deck turns on then start wiring in for the speakers.

Re: Re: Crx 88 reciever installation

You almost never have to use the illumination. I would say recheck the wires. The main 4 (power, ground, remote, memory) In which on the new harness would be red, black, yellow, and blue. The rest of the wires are speaker wires. Check your fuses also.
