Unhappy ok heres the thing

heres the thing...the us lancer looks to me to be totally different the the japanese lancer...not only in engine modifications but also in some minor exterior modifications...if you look at the hood and the front bumper and he headlights youll notice that youll need a HECK of a body kit to make it look like the EVO VII and if you look at the back of the car not only the lights but the actual back youll notice that its different and the fender flares out slighty in the back tires of the EVO VII, the back tailights do not only look different but they are shaped differently...please correct me if im wrong because i WANT to buy a US lancer instead of waiting a year because of personal reasons, and i REALLY want to be able to turn the not so good looking US lancer into the body style of an EVO VII but so far im not seeing it from any company.

i agree, these oz rallys will be fast with either a lancer evo VII engine swap or the turbos that will come out for the car. Either way, this car will be a very fast machine with a little money and effort, which makes having a car to fix up fun.

oh ya and iforgot to add that the cars are virtually the same but with different rims and a few other things, the lights are different but almost the same, the hood and front grille with bumper is an easy replacement since thye take up the same amount of space, and your right about the flared side fenders, but they can be replaced also. I know these cars are very close because i have a friend that already has a evo VII that is yellow like my Oz rally and we matched them up and they are pretty close, and will be even closer with about a grand and a half in adjustments.

Hello From Idaho

Hello from Idaho, I just recently bought an OZ 02 lancer, and i have done my own research, the cars are damn near identical, pound for pound with out motors, the evo is a little heavier because of 4wd. but not much. The man is right, with the full kit i've got on the way from the Bodykit.com link, this car is going to be sweet. Guess what also, the 4G63 powerplant that we love, i've been working on it and getting specs on how to swap it, the beast WILL FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! It won't be 4wd unless you want to do major reconstruction, but it will drop in to be front wheel drive. From their, it will EAT HONDA's and Shit Toyota's,(sorry for all who own either, in my town, the honda boys have invaded every good shop and turned it in to strictly honda retail. You can't get mods here unless it's for a honda.) Anyway, The body kit Rules, and he's right, it will appear as a Evo. VII.

US lancers

What engines come in the US lancers? -they look nothing like the lancers we get here (which come ex japan). DO you get the 4g93 lancer over there - it s 4wd 1800 turbo - kinda like a baby evo. I have one and bang for buck they are one of the best cars on the road in NZ.
