what do use for drying a vehicle?
What have you found the best method for drying? I have a black car and I noticed that when I use cotton towels on the paint it sometimes leaves streak marks, which you can see only when the sun hits it. This won't come off until I wax or polish the surface. I figured I'd try the absorber instead on it, but I noticed that it leaves little water spots behind at times. To me it doesn't get the vehicle dry as well as towels. I'm at a toss up as to what to use. Some people told me that a towel or microfiber is best because it has a nap to it, where a chamois/absorber does not. This would trap any dirt that might come across the surface when your drying.

Re: what do use for drying a vehicle?
I use a similar product to the California water blade, basically a squeegee to dry the windows & remove the majority of standing water. Then go over with a real chamois, followed by a semi dirty chamois for the door jambs, trunks, hood, fuel filler door, etc. After all that use compressed air to blast any remaing water in the cracks & go over once again in those areas with a clean chamois.
Large Microfiber towels work well for drying, I prefer chamois. Less towels for us to clean. Make sure you rinse well & ALWAYS work on a cool car out of direct sunlight. Tip - Keep 1 chamois for this only. Wipe a window with damp chamois then buff dry with clean MF towel. No need for glass cleaner and also works well on int. windows IF the car is not smoked in or the windows are VERY dirty. Damp chamois also work well for a quick interior wipe down. What kind of car wash shampoo are you using? |

I use Meguiars gold class car wash shampoo/conditioner. Do you think it's true that a chamois takes off more wax than a towel?
