95 Grand Am Service Engine Soon Light

I have a 95 Grand Am with that has a 3.1L engine & it has 112,000 miles on it.

The service engine soon light was coming on daily. I would turn the car off and then restart it, the light would be off.

So I do it into the dealer and they told me it was the EGR valve. They replace it & perform a tune up (new plugs, filters, clean the injectors, etc...) and a few days after they replaced it the service engine soon light comes on and goes off.

The light comes on when I slow down to stop at a Stop Light. When I speed up , the light goes off. Sometimes the light will come on and go off twice while I'm slowing down to stop.

Does any one have any suggestions?

Thanks

John

The car does seem to idle a little fast, but not all the time.

Hmm, i don't know...I was going to say replace the filters but you have had that already done... Its hard to say, since your car is a 95 and mine is a 96, but I would swear that it might be a sensor going bad.
