SiR2 Block From Japan w/ Internals...

im buying and SiR2 block from japan w/ the internals but i have 2 questions:

1...because its from japan(JDM), will i have to change my civic to RH drive or is that only when the engine is 'jap spec'?

2...what are the best parts i can use on the block, meaning can i use any b series parts? Basically, i just want to know what are the possibilities i can end up with and will it hurt me to use USDM parts on a JDM block?

You really need to do a LOT of research, and I mean a LOT.

No you don't have to change your car to RHD.

im trying to do alot of research...the whole reason i am asking. i know b series parts fit b series blocks but i want to know what would be the best configuration to use? its just the block, crank, rods, pistons, water pump, fuel pump and some other accessories. What kind of head should i get and the best intake manifold. im looking to build a great engine and i just want sum tips. i dont need ALOT of research like u say, just sum...which is why i am asking about the things i dont exactly know yet, duh. i dunno if u were trying to say i have no clue as to what im talking about or not but i do know alot about this subject...just not everything

just get yourself the b16B head from that motor and you'll be fine.

1. No, you can keep it LHD.

2. All B-series parts are interchangable, and no, it wont hurt to put USDM stuff in a JDM block.

No, not all B series parts are just "interchangable", for instance OBD issues. You can't put a GSR intake manifold on a ITR/CTR/B16A head, without modification. You can't just drop a B16A head on a B18B block. 1st gen B16A and 2nd gen thermostat housings are different. And I'd like to see someone cram B20 pistons in a stock bore B16A block, or B16A pistons in a B20. Not to mention rod lengths between motors. Also some of the older motors have different output shaft diameters for the tranny, and so on.
