Trying to Determine If Missing Body Part

Hey y'all. My '95 Integra LS is at the body shop for repair, but when I took a look at the car I found that the rear wheel wells looked like they were missing some plastic shielding or something. There are big open spaces behind the rear wheel along the quarter panel. The repair guy is saying that the Acura parts departments he's working with are having a hard time determining what part goes there, if at all. Can anyone confirm whether or not the stock Integra LS has something in the back half of the rear wheel wells? Is this space for optional mud guards or something or is there really something missing?
