03 Altima - steering wheel vibration problem
Last Monday I bought a new 2003 Altima 2.5S. I am having a problem with a vibration in the steering wheel. It is noticeable when driving at 55-60 mph. The dealer has replaced the tires and wheels on the car, and checked the alignment and wheel balancing but there is still a vibration in the steering wheel. Has anyone else had this problem or know what the solution is?
Thanks for any help anyone can offer. |

If the dealer checked the tires and alignment and all was well. You might want to have him check the braking system. I had the same problem with my 98 VW and it was the rotors that was the cause. Just a thought.

Re: 03 Altima - steering wheel vibration problem
did they check the control arm bushings? cause if they are bad, then it is possible if you are going too fast that the wheel can just..... pop off so to speak. my 93 altima had a bad control arm bushing and at around 50mph it seemed like the wheel wanted to pop off, im not sure if thats what you are experiencing, but if you feel a bad vibration, its something to check out on all your tires.
