Documentary seeking expensive car owners...

....expensive cars, that is, not expensive owners....

I am a tv producer based in the UK, and am currently producing a documentary for Discovery (US) about expensive super luxury (newish, rather than classic) classic cars. We'll be looking at (hopefully) the Mclaren F1 as well as the Veryon, Spyker, Ferrari and several others.

It is going to be people-focused, so I am looking for 'characters' - be they owners, designers etc etc but someone who gives some insight into why these cars are so fabulous. Its also primarily US-based, despite many of the cars being European manufactured, so I am seeking help, suggestions and advice regarding owners, dealers, stories...

As you may have guessed, I'm a little new to the world of cars but I'm doing my best to catch up! please feel free to email me at [email protected] if theres something you feel I should know! All help gratefully appreciated.

Please please PLEASE do a documentary on the McLaren. I'll bet a lot of people would watch! As for your search for 'characters', I believe that Dan Kennedy of Scottsdale, AZ, has lent his F1 to the Discovery Channel before, I'm positive he's lent it to Road & Track before so he might be able to help you out on telling you about them. Also, Jay Leno loves F1's, and if it's possible to get a hold of him I know he could tell you lots about it. You mentioned advice regarding dealers, I know Shelton Ferrari in Ft.Lauderdale, FL, has a Dark Silver F1 and could be helpful on telling you about it. But the absolute genius to go to on your search for info on the F1 would be Gordon Murray, the Chief Engineer on the McLaren F1 project. The F1 was designed 100% by his specifications and wants. If you want to go to the source of the F1, the McLaren Headquarters is in the UK in a city called Woking. I hope I helped!

yer he didnt like the steel brackets quote from classic and sports car

"someone added a steel bracket for the engine cover light and attached it to the existing bracket that supported the cover and strut. If there is one thing I hate it is a bracket. If there is one thing I hate it's a bracket on a bracket. We spent so much time not compromising it was a real shame" Gordon Murray
