Angry plz help.. random stalling on 96jetta

I had my car fully over hauled a few months back
changed:
fuel/air/oil filters/plugs & distributer
a cracked pipe on the exhausted recirculation
and had a new set of gauges put in to replace the poltergiest that made them tick uncontrollably when the car was off

now i randomlly stall
usaually after the car is hot(+ i live in hawaii)
+when im going down hill and downshifting
or when at a light and idling
or when i break into a turn

the odd thing is that when my rpms are above idle i dont lose my breaks/stearing untill the rpms drop below 5-9000
but the stepping on the gas does absoulutly nothing during that time.

the car won't start again till it cools off
iv'e tried a bunch of things...today im gonna reseal my windsheild since the seal got destroyed when the mech changed the gauges.
out

I have seen the main power realy play tricks like this on people. Tell your mechanic to replace this relay and I am sure you will not have this problem again.
