GTR 34 Future in USA...?

Hi...

I hope all of you's are getting your early christmas shopping done...
And asking Santa Claus for a nice BABY BLUE SKYLINE GTR34.. ( I know I am...)

Anyways....
I had a question, someone posted awhile back about Nissan's Skylines being imported by Infinity Dealers...

Would you be able to post some more info for me about the future of the GTR34's in the US...
I am really debating about whether it would be alot easier to IMPORT one from JP, buy it from MOTOREX or just plainly, WAIT...

Thanks in advance....
Pete

I hate to tell ya but I don't think the R34 will ever be commercialy imported. Infinity will be bringing what was called the R35 concept car over as a X35. It will not be the 6cyl twin turbod RB26DETT engine that we know and love. I hear it will be a V8 N/A engine akin to the VG30DE just a little larger. The car will be RWD lacking ATTESSA and HICA
If you want a real r34 just look around on www.autopoint.nz.co or find a GB or Aussi car search.
Hope I helped ya out.

I wonder if you're confusing a xouple of different vehicles: the V35 Skyline, which is RWD with a n/a V6, and should be sold in the US under the Infiniti brand; and the new GTR concept car, which as far as I'm aware will retain the 4WD drive train, but as yet the engine is not decided upon - the consensus though, seems to be that a V8 is not the go, as apart from anything else, it'd be heavier, and upset the balance of the car - supposedly the choice is between V6 or larger inline 6 + turbo(s)

Gonthrax and moondog, I appreciate your input on the subject that I have inquired about. I do have one last question, do you guys know that TIME span on the issue at hand?
2002, 2003, 2004, etc...

Thanks...

PS...I have tried that thread on numerous occasions and had no luck...but i'll wait...

The V35 Skyline is being sold already in Japan. Don't know when it would get to the US though; here in NZ they're still selling the R34, and in fact the salesman I talked to a while back didn't even know about the V35!

The GTR concept car is just that: a concept. As I understand it, there is nothing firmly decided for it. Yet.

well i really hope that when the R35 GT-R comes out in the u.s. that the price of importing a R34 would drop since it is a older model. this way i can get a used R34 for around 60'gs instead of 90 g's
