vibration coming from engine

The engine in my '99 Civic makes a vibrating noise when I'm around 1400 rpm. It also happens at roughly twice that speed(~2800 rpm), but not in between. I've tried turning on and off the a/c and other accessories, but the noise remains. Also, the noise occurs when I'm driving or if I just keep it in park and rev up to 1400 rpm. I've tried to listen and pinpoint where the sound is coming from, but it's hard to tell with the regular engine noise going on at the same time. Anyone seen this before?

Since it is happening at certain rpms, my guess is that it wouldn't be the engine itself, but some sort of bracket or heat shield (they normally make a tinny rattle). Or, once something really odd happened to me, and something INSIDE the resonator was rattling, and I just had the pipe swapped for one without a resonator, and it sounded alot better without it.

yeah, it's probably something other than the engine. i had a lot of vibration noise from something i installed that was rubbing against part of the inside of my hood.

agreed. Probably just a heat shield. Doesnt seem like its too big of a concern.

My friend was having the same problem with his car, it ended up being the catalytic converter heat shield so you might wanna check that out either way it is no biggie from the sounds of it.
