Question 93' TT Intermittent Boost Problem

Hi guys,

Hopefully someone can help me with a problem I'm having. I have a 93ZXTT w/69K miles on it. All service (i.e. 60K, etc.) has been done on the car. Last week the car started to exhibit a strange problem. When I leave to go to work or return from work the car is boosting (according to the stock gauge and the pull of the car) at ~12PSI, half-way through my drive (12miles) the car begins to boost at ~7PSI. On my way home yesterday I decided to pull over when the symptom appeared, let the car idle, then turned the motor off. After restarting the boost was better than the 7PSI but still less than what the car typically does. The car is bone stock with the exception of a JWT Pop-Charger (Single).

Anyone seen this before?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,
Nick.

When a z32 runs on 7PSI it is in saftey boost.
This could mean a number of things, run a ECU diagnostic test and see what error code it gives. If there is no error code it may be detonation that is causing the issue.

Thank you for the info - My assumption is that I will need to go out and purchase the Conzult software in order to do a scan? If so I'll purchase and let you know what I find out. From a detonation perspective, are there any known issues that result in the TT running lean? Thanks again for the information.....

You don't need to buy anything. You could get the ECU codes yourself for free. Just follow instuctions on the site.
