OT: Amphibious assault vehicle (AAV) -- completed (heavy pics warning)

Well, my second attempt at a completing the assembling and painting of model kit is not exactly an "automotive". I got curious over the interesting hull shape of the Tamiya 1/35 Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAVP7A1). So I decided to build it. Took a month to complete. Whoah, I kinda enjoy it much more than doing my VW New Beetle, no wonder military modelling is so popular a subject

my dad used to be into military models, and I have a couple of them myself. That build is very nice! You did a great job with the figures esspecially. They look extremely realistic. Keep it up!

This sure brings me good memories of my good old 1:72 and 1:35 times.
The US Army AAV's are impressive machines. You did a fantastic job on this one. Thanks for sharing.

Re: OT: Amphibious assault vehicle (AAV) -- completed (heavy pics warning)

Thanks for all your encouragements I love the unique and sophisticated shape of this vehicle. Btw, just for your info., the overall colour was Tamiya Acrylic "Desert Yellow". Initially I bought Tamiya "Light Sand" spray paint but then I figured that a lot of micro paint work is needed and spray can doesn't work out (even though the assembly sheet tells TS-46 Light Sand and there is no bottled equivalent of this colour). I airbrushed te Desert Yellow colour. The other colour I may try in future desert version of AFVs is "Buff" which I like.

Here is a "poster" wallpaper I did for my completed model kit for your enjoyment:

Tamiya 1/35 U.S. Marine AAVP7A1 w/ UGWS Wallpaper Grayscale 899x730 (378K)

What next? Hmmm..perhaps a Humvee. Now THAT will be called an automotive.
