Thermal R&D owners

I'm looking to buy an exhaust for my car and I've narrowed it down to a thermal. My car has the D14A3 engine (it's a european market car) and I'm not too sure if any of the thermal catbacks will fit my car. Does anyone know if this is equivalent to a U.S. series engine. If not I'll just go with the axle back. Is there anything you particulary like/dislike about the thermal exhaust ? Did you find it too loud or too quiet. I've heard that it can be loud at first but quietens down after 1000 miles.

thanks for any info

Thermals are very high quality, sound very good and construction is top notch, the only problem I see frequently is them not bolting up straight, which blows!

What year is your Civic is it a hatch or 4 door?

I don't know about the part about them not bolting up straight, but mine bolts up perfectly. The fit and finish of the system is excellent. I am pretty sure that the thermal exhaust will fit on your car. Why not try emailing or calling thermal.

I have the full catback. It is the classic model. You can get the quieter model which is called the stealth model. If i got another honda, I would immediatley put another thermal exhaust on it.

Thanks for the help I think I'll go with a classic muffler for the moment and if I need to go cat back at a later date I'll get the piping custom made (mandrel bent)

I sell and use ONLY thermal! I've installed a half dozen locally and not one has been off! The fit and finish is flawless for the money, and they hang great! I install only the catback systems.

so, how loud is the thermal classic? did you notice any power gain? i was looking in to getting a thermal exhaust but went with the greddy evo instead. i'm very satisfied with the evo i have right now but sometimes wonder how the thermal would have sounded and performed compared to the evo.

thermals are loud...if your going to spend your money on an exhuast, get a Kakimoto exhaust....either that or a custom mandral bent exhaust through a magnaflow muffler

hey vince, This is 4dr_threat. I was wondering if you are able to do a group buy on the thermal exhaust systems? I know a whole bunch of other guys on a different board that can't wait the long wait for importparts to have another groupbu on thermal...IT's mostly the turbo systems though....HOw much can you get it for? What' the lowest you can go on a turbo 3" system?
