COMPLETE fiberglass interior

Hey I have a 2000 Civic Si and I am wanting to fiberglass the entire interior...I found a pic like I want sorta...

The only thing I'm wondering is...After fiberglassing the dash will it fit properly? and should I make a plug of the original dash or would it be alright to just fiberglass right over the original dash if I don't care? I have alot of time on my hands and I really want to do this so any help would be appreciated

If u fiberglass over it mightr not fit or it will fit snugly, it depends on how many coats you do. I would probrobly try to remove a few mm of surface so the fiberglass going over will fit like the original.....cheack out deadboys tread on a DIY bodykit theres alot of info on fiberglassing in there.

I dont think that fiberglassing over the original would be the best way to get the look that you see up above.
I would think that if your going to take the time to fiberglass a dash that you would do a custom design, not just make it look like the same exact dash as in the pic above.

If you wanted to make it look like that above all you would need to do is gel coat it and then sand it down, prime it, then paint it. It wouldnt make it any thicker and it would retain the same shape but would be shiny.

Just my opinion there but i have done alot of foberglassing myself.

That's what I want. Will this "gel coat" stick to anything, vinyl, plastic...etc. and where would I purchase it? Also, will it adhere to already painted pieces or would I need to first remove the paint? Thanks.

Well....I'm going to fiberglass a screen into the middle of the dash...And I want the hard, shiny surface and also I don't want any way of it flexing (like the vinyl on the dash) and cracking. I'm thinking if I just mix the resin and hardener and then pour it over the dash (not using any fiberglass matte) (maybe strip all the vinyl off of it first, where it's just metal) and then just sand it down

Nevermind removing the vinyl on the entire dash would be a VERY bad idea...I guess the best thing would be to just add like 2-3 layers of resin like I described or do this gel coat...I could always gel coat the dash and then fiberglass the screen where I want it and feather it out...
