1998 jeep Grand no tail lights
I have a 1998 jeep grand Cherokee larado. My tail lights and parking lights do not work.I have checked the bulbs and fuse. The owners manuel lists a parking lite relay, but does not tell you which is which. I located several relays above the fuse panel but do not know if this is the right area. I went to the Jeep dealer and they were not very helpfull, they wanted 75 bucks an hour just to look at it. I hope that someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance.

I had your same problem with my '98 Grand Cherokee Laredo. All of the fuses were OK (there are 2 fuses boxes, one in the engine and one hidden on the passenger side under the dash to the side). There is a brake switch under the brake pad. This switch is a small plastic black box with a small plastic thing sticking out of one end (getting to it is very interesting/you have to dive head first under the dash, facing upwards, and look under and up the brake pad). You just take out the old plastic box (sort of like unplugging an electric switch) and put in the new one. The price that I paid was $25 for the part, and took about 15 mins. to change (most of the time was looking for the darn thing). Have fun.
