Question Short Shift Kits

Hello All.

I have a few questions. Is it a worthwile exercise to replace the stock shifter in a r33gts25t with a short shift? Although the stock shifter is fairly precise, if there is one weakness with this car has is that its throws are lo-o-o-o-o-o-ng and slow (not to mention the long travel clutch). The 1-2 shift is particularly bad.

What kind of decrease in throw lengths can I expect with a good short shifter?

Will shift feel and precision or gearbox durability be compromised?

Which brands should I be looking for (e.g B&M etc)?

And finally what sort of price range am I looking at?

Thanks heaps!
