OEM body parts not painted????

Went to the dealer to pick up a new door handle (door handle broke believe it or not!)

but anyway, all they had was a black assembly! The guy told me that all their parts come a standard color and must be painted to match the car.

what gives?
is this guy for real?

This is true. All parts come in black primer.

Not ALL parts; some come in white, or grey

But yes; you'll need to take it [along with your car's paint code, found on one of the VIN plates] along to a bodyshop [or similar] to get it painted to match ! This shouldnt cost much for just a door handle, unless you have some sort of mental chromoflair paintjob !

I have never seen any mitsu OEM parts come in anything but black primer. But anythings possible.

I believe the door handle problem is common too. I'm wanting to buy a 95-99 GSX or GST and have been doing some research and have heard about that being a problem. Rather small one though.
