I think you may be a little confused. There is a 3.2TL and a 3.5RL. The 3.2TL is the more sporty and the 3.5RL is larger and more of a luxury car.
If serious about 3.2TL check out www.acura-tl.com. |

Acuras have a factory problem in the transmition, i will not recomended to anybody. I drove an Acura 3.2 TL before buying my new 2001 I30 and I chose the infiniti for alot of reasons, for any further reference go to www.carreview.com and check it out the reviews for Acuras and Infinities. good luck |

tried them all.
I have had a few Acuras and never had any problems with them. They have all been very reliable. I've had a vigor, 2.5TL, and now my 3.2TL type S. I love the type S...It is soooo fast.

Arrogant Acura Dealer
Greetings:
Before I bought my '02 I35 I test drove the new Acura 3.2 Type S. I liked the car very much but it did have less interior space compared to the I35. The main reason I did not buy the TL was the dealer. I won't name them in this post. After the test drive the salesman told me I could have the car for an overnight test drive if I was serious about buying one. I told him I was interested but not at the sticker price. (I expected to deal a little and get something off the sticker.) At that point he told me he had orders from the owner of the dealership NOT to consider any offer on the car that was not the full sticker price. I walked out of the dealership, this was around April or May of 2001, and did not go back. About one month after this happened the salesman called me back and said they were prepared to "deal" on the car. I told him "No thanks" and in June of 2002 I got the I35 at a very nice discount. The car I was driving was a 1998 Toyota Avalon. It had about 28K miles on it after four years. I sold it privately rather than accept "wholesale" pricing from the Infiniti dealer. Bottom line, the Acura TL is a smaller car. If you don't mind less interior room take one out for a test drive. I'm sure they are selling below sticker now. Regards, Shortimer |

Re: I30 (I35) OR Acura 3.5TL
How about i30 1996 model? I am thinking of buying this car.
My friend tells me that Nissan introduced this vehicle in 1996. I was wondering if this is a reliable car... especially since that was their first year of manufacturing the car. The current owner of the car said that the Check Engine Light on the car came on a few days back. Anyone here know of any known problems with this car? Any info about this model will be greatly appreciated. |

Re: I30 (I35) OR Acura 3.5TL
Hello TinTin3,
I don't know the exact year that Infiniti (Nissan is the parent company) introduced the I30 but I know several people who owned that model and it was a pretty trouble free car. Beware of "check engine" issues. They can be expensive. The O2 sensors are expensive. My 2002 I35 has four of these sensors. One failed while the car was under warranty so it was replaced at no cost to me. This happened back in 2004. The labor rate at the Infiniti dealer back then was $95.00 per hour. The part cost $135.00 if I remember correctly. With any used car you need to consider the asking price, the year of the car and the mileage. Also consider how the owner keeps the car. Check the laws in your state regarding the required vehicle inspection. If a vehicle fails inspection in Massachusetts (Lemon Law, Chapter 90) and the repair cost exceed 10% of the selling price the buyer has the option of getting his money back if the seller won't pay for the repairs. Most states offer car buyers some protection. Good luck with your car purchase. Regards, Shortimer |
