Question 92 Eclipse info needed

Buying a base model 92 Eclipse, and wondering how reliable the 1.8 engine is. Has 108k miles, 1 owner. Is there any way I can be sure the timing belt has been changed? She believes it was, but lost paperwork during a move. (Hey, I'm only paying $150.00 for the car, so......)
And any decent sources for body parts? I need to replace one of the headlight assemblies, as it is cracked, and wondered if there are any fairly cheap parts houses to find one at.
Any things to be aware of or mindful of with the Eclipse would be appreciated.
Thinking of putting 17x9 rims on at some point. Will they fit without problems? I have them on my BMW and love the ride. And are there any chips or options short of turbos to get some more power out of the engine?

Did you not get the service record book with the car ? If you did, the dealer should have stamped it when it was done [Altho I imagine you'd have checked this if you had the book, but you never know !]

If it has been serviced regularly by a particular dealer, they should have a record of all work carried out to the car so it would be worth calling in to see if they can help you [assuming the woman hasnt moved TOO far !]

The only other way is a visual check on the car; There should be a sticker somewhere in the engine bay [or possibly around the door frame] saying when the next cambelt change is due. [If it's never had one done, it probably wont have a sticker, however]

Failing all that, check the actual cambelt and see how worn it looks; if it looks dodgy then get it changed !!
