gtech pro

If anyone has or knows about either the gtech pro performance meter (the older one) or the new competition model, i have a question. My speedometer in my car is screwing up lately. I got the sensor replaced thinking that was the problem, but it wasnt. Not wanting to replace everything in there i started looking at the gtech pro perfomance meters. So my question: Can those meters display just my speed continuously? So could i use it as my speedometer? I know it will time different race times and all that, but it doesnt say if it will just display the speed. Any help would be appreciated.

oh and btw any gps system will give you your speed too
