Unhappy Iat

Hey, does anyone know where the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor plug is??? I think this may be it but I'm not sure... Any help would be great.

Sorry it took so long... I never have any time.

Here's where your intake air temp sensor is on your engine. This is the intake manifold for both the S and Si model. Only the fast idle thermo valve is different between the two. Looks like the intake air temp sensor is sandwiched between the manifold itself and the idle air control valve.

This is a scan from my service manual. It's the 1995 version, but I would imagine the info's the same in this case.

hey Plastic Fork, where did you get that diagram from? Does it have any vacuum hoses or coolant lines labeled on there? Sorry to steal the thread, i just need a page with lines from the intake manifold.

Thanks
Bryan

No sweat, man. I can see if I can find one with vacuum hoses and/or coolant lines shown. Which engine are you looking for? The diagram shown is for the Si (D16Z6) and S (D15B7) model engine from 1995. The manual also covers my engine for the VTEC model (B16A3). Let me know so I can look for the right one.

The diagram is from my Honda service manual for my car, which covers my year and all three models. You can buy one at www.helminc.com for around $60 - just look for your car or car with the engine you have. This is the exact same manual the Honda dealerships and their mechanics use.

same setup I'm gonna eventually have (b18 block w b16 head).. unless I go the ITR route. Red is such a lovely color under the hood.

Anyways.. Just wanted to say 90crx dude... you should be running faster than a 15.6 with those mods.. A bone stock del Sol with a b16 in it runs a 15.5 if you're good. A modded b18 should be hitting low 15's to high 14s. Not a criticism.. 15.6 is killer.. just didn't know if you knew that or not. Get down to the track and run it harder!

That's gonna be tough to get then for me. This is the service manual for my car solely (hence Del Sol service manual), so it will only have information on the S, Si, and VTEC model engines for the Del Sol from 1995. I can try to get what you need for the B16 head and maybe the intake manifold if it's the same manifold I'm using but for the B18C1 block, I don't own a GS-R personally so I won't have the manual on it.

Which engine intake manifold are you using?

EVERYONE tells me the same thing. I am up 6000 ft in the air (Colorado). Most of you people are at sea level. You lose almost a full second being up this high. Anyways... i am using the 1st gen manifold because i got it free with the head. I am just lost on where a few lines go. One of the ones i am looking for is the IACV. There are two different lines that run out of there. The one to the right runs to the Throttle Body but i cant figure out where the left one goes.

TIA,
Bryan

Well, here's where the two hoses go on my engine anyway. Took a look in my car to see where they went and referenced a couple shots of my manual. Note: the second picture is my engine upside down; the valve where the hose goes in is actually just above the oil filter on the engine block, not below it. Hope this helps some.
