Why bother? For what you'd pay for a car sub, you might as well get a computer sound system...I bought the setup I have now for $400 at Best Buy...and last time I play Return to Castle Wolfenstiein, I had the neighbors knocking on my door thinking there was a gang shootout. It might be due to the SB Audigy Paltinum 1, but NEways, that's my .

A well built car sub and a computer system package sounds WAY TOO DIFFERENT. The comparison made here is at extreme ends, therefore, I disagree with your decision.

I'll based my point on this, "trade-offs". Alot of my post in this section focuses on trade-offs, and what I mean by that is, cost vs sound quality, sound quality vs build quality, etc. Everything has to be traded off, if your on a budget, stick with the computer built speakers, if your after quality but with semi budget restrictions, then u can juggle up between the two, or if quality is the MUST, get a stereo or decent speaker system, along with a sound card.

You guys have completly the wrong idea. A sub should be dead quiet, as to not be detected by other subs nor sonorbouys.

if you are serious about it, it depends on how u want to hook em up. i recently just did it at a frat house. a deep cycle battery and a battery cahrger is all you need, butbe sure tha charger is on a low draw circuit as it will chare teh battery around 15 amps. it was about 175 or so for it. a cheap solution would be hooking a home audio system up to it. it will also blow away any computer speaker setup as far as loudness. i know first hand, my 200 watt home theather setup is louder than my roomies 500 watt comp setup. no imnot bsing either.

P.S. i didnt read any other posts other than the first 2, lol.
