Anybody here driven...'The Dragon'...?

The Dragon is US129, a road located in Western North Carolina and
and Eastern Tennessee. It's claim to fame is the road has 318 curves
in only 11-miles. There is also no residences/business along the road,
just a few overlook pull-offs to admire the Smoky Mountain area.

It's sudden fame began when a motorcyclist drove the road and wrote
an article for a cycle magazine in 1992, and boom! The Rockets, cruisers,
and the Harley's come from all over to drive this and a few other roads
that surrounding the area. Now the cars, like Miata's, Mini's, Z3's,
Porsches', and Corvettes now take to the roads.

I'm taking mine in 2-weeks to 'tame' the Dragon

I will tame The Dragon, but I'll wait until I get a bike to do so. Everyone who's into motorcycles knows about The Dragon.

I've always heard it called Deal's Gap. Once I get my clutch fixed and the sol lowered/sway bars on, I have full intentions of going and hittin it hard. Can't now because of some extreme body roll. Damn I want a stiff chassis!

My friend took his new porsche 911 cabriolet carrera through there just before school started, during the mazda weekend. It's pretty sweet from what I hear and have seen.

Yup I heard of it.
My Biology teacher told me about it.

I was thinking about taking my 1.6L 1999 Sentra, w/ stock suspension and brakes, to slay the dragon.
Just kidding.

My teacher told me that cops don't even patrol that road?
Now that is education.

More so in the old days than now. The entire road used to be 55mph
from start to finish. TN has slowed it down on thier side to 40mph, but
NC still posts a 55 speed limit. During the busy 'leaf-lookers' seasons of
Spring and Fall the traffic can be rather busy and you have both TN and
NC Troopers as well as the local county Sheriffs up and down the road.

12-deaths on the 'Dragon' since 95'
