Modified Mazda RX-8 Progress

Hello All,
Some of you may've seen my post in Hiroboy's RX-8 Kit thread but I thought I may as well start a new thread anyway.

First off, sorry to dissapoint you but no pics at the moment, hopefully will have some in a few days of it in it's primered state.

The kit I've used as a base is the Fujimi RX-8 Type S kit. Modifications I've done on this kit are:

* Mazdaspeed style front bumper
* R-Magic Sideskirts & Rear diffuser
* R-Magic Eyelids
* Custom Dish Wheels based on the stock Type-S wheels with Scara 2-step dish on them.
* Brembo Slotted & Drilled Disc Brakes
* Lowered suspension
* Front Mount Intercooler (since it's a curbside kit I cannot make a turbocharged 13B engine for it to boot )
Plus misc. body mods all over the place to improve the quality of the Fujimi kit.

The colour I am painting it is Metallic Silver with a heavy clear coat. Front headlights and tail lights will be very close to the real ones with a very dark appearance.

Here are some pictures of the items I've scratchbuilt for my car (the real ones, that is)

Mazdaspeed front bar:

R-Magic rear diffuser:

R-Magic sideskirts:

R-Magic eyelids:

Any comments/suggestions on this project? I realise this is difficult without pictures but anything in particular you think would look good on this car? Paint has not been purchased yet so colour suggestions are welcome.

Will hopefully have pictures in 2-3 days

Regards,
Ryan

Ok Small picture update.
I've decided to hold off on pics of the body until the kit is finished. But for now, here's the muffler and rims (custom made parts)

If you're wondering why the mufflers are so short, it's because of the RX8's exhaust system it uses a horizontal muffler rather than conventional type, so i've had to make the custom mufflers really short or they'd stick into the rear wheels....

updates soon, i'm starting work again on it tommorow so hopefully will get the it 99% finished where i'm happy enough with it to take pics of it

I just slapped the second layer of putty on the front bar...
I attached a picture of it.... it's VERY rough and i didn't shape the putty much, i'll sculpt it when it's dry into the stage two shape, then finish it off with a final layer of putty to smooth over any areas i miss....

the vent shapes look wrong in this picture because of the way the putty has been put on so go easy on me *puts flame suit on*

I've run outta putty though so i'll have to buy more tommorow afternoon

anyhoo.... any more comments? :\

Re: Modified Mazda RX-8 Progress

Looks good. Your putty looks like cream.

BTW: I think the rotary in the RX-8 is a Renesis, not 13b.

Hey Jonno,
The putty is Tamiya Epoxy Smooth Putty - It's actually a really light green but due to using the flash there it came up white. It's really similar to Blu Tac very rubbery, great for making bodykits

The engine in RX-8's is a 13B, but referred to as a "Renesis" version.

I'll be doing some shaping on the front bar in a couple of hours, pics to follow.

Ok Quick update.
Did some more work on the front bar. As you can see on the left side of the front bar (right side of the photo) it's starting to take shape. I intended to do more however I slipped and cut myself with the scalpel, it'll have to wait til tommorow when the cut is healed some more. Will have putty to finish the skirts and rear bar tommorow, also.
