Paint Job Pricing?

If i wanted a clean paint job all over (car is teal and i want black) that doesnt look too dull and cheap, how much would it cost? Some paint shops around here have a thing for $500 wondering if that could be a good deal.

I've painted a lot of cars and for a color change, no shop that's worth a shit is gonna charge you less than 1,200-1,500 dollars. And thats pretty cheap actually, for a really good paint job with the door jams and everything I charge around 1,700-2,000 but I'm not a cheap half ass body shop either. So don't expect much for $500 dollars I can't even buy supplies for that much. For a normal paint job it cost me about 700-800 dollars just for supplies so if they're charging you 500 dollars there using the cheapest paint "won't last long" and they're not sanding it right. So your paint job will look good for about 2 weeks then it'll start chipping and look like crap. But that's my advice. If your looking for a cheaper price don't change the color, thats where most of the cost is gonna come from.

i dont think that matters, cuz they still sand it and repaint. i doubt they just spray on a layer of new black paint. thats pretty bootleg if u ask me. lol
