Alarm Wiring problems

I just (almost) installed an alarm on my '90 coupe, but i cant find 2 rather crucial wires,

1: the alarm input, (door open) supposedly a purple wire, both that i tested gave off no signal when the door was open or closed.

2: parking lights, supposed to be, red/blue. (or blue/red) the ones that i tested gave a short 12V when i first tested and then i lost the signal.

I'm also a little nervous to put in the starter kill just because i dont like the idea of cutting my start wire in 2.

if anyone has pics i'd appreciate it. it's already kinda pissing me off that half of the functions i cant use because of my car.
