Mods to U13 and pics of my new car
Hey all, just joined this site, very nice! Is this Australian or US?
Anyways, here is my car, it's the LX not SSS. Now my question is, is it worthwhile doing any mods to the engine? I don't want to spend $1000 only to get 10kw or so if you know what I mean. Will an exhaust do much? air filter? cold air induction? Thanks for your help |

You probably would rather spend a couple of grand and put a Pulsar GTi-R motor in it, least it has turbo that will give you a bit of a kick

i'm assuming that your an aussie, judging from the gum trees in the back ground? at least thats what i thought they were.
an air filter or a cold air induction would help out a bit. i have an after market K & N filter on my car and its helped, but its nothing great. an exhaust depends, if you want to spend like $1500-$1600 australian dollars, you could get a f**king awesome exhaust, that would probably give you about 15-20 kW. spend about $300 and get a cat back exhaust and maybe get about 5 kW. the biggest problem with the engine in your car is the support for it. unlike the US, australia doesn't really have many aftermarket companies supporting the KA24DE, (for instance, in the 240SX you can by a turbo kit for like US$2500 from greddy) that just doesn't happen here. you could transplant a SR20DET from a pulsar Gti-R (that would be the pick of the SR's cause it has quad throttle bodies, improved head flow, etc) as you can still get front cuts in australia, but the problem will be $$$$ unless you can do it yourself or know of someone who is willing and able to do it. i'm in the same situation myself, my car looks almost exactly the same as yours, and i would love to modify it like some of the altimas (same as our cars really) in the states, but it would cost a f**k load! but you would have a completely unique car that would hammer! i recommend you do it and send me photos!
