Question I Can't open my 1997 Explorer with my keyless remote but it open with a tahoe remote

I would like information and instructions on how to pogram ford alarm keyless remotes for 1997 explorer because there are something rare with it; I Can open my Ford Explorer with a 1996 Chevrolet tahoe keyless remote and with my remote I can't do it; I replace the keyless remote batery and it doesn't work.

I think my keyless remote is not programing.

Would you like to help me with my problem? or guide me to solve it.

Thanks.

Excuse my english.

Cycle ignition from OFF to RUN (Not Start) five (5) times within 10 seconds, ending in RUN. All doors will lock then unlock (Click-Click) to confirm programming mode. Press any button on 1st remote transmitter. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. Press any button on 2nd transmitter (up to 4 transmitters total possible). Turn ignition to OFF. The door locks will lock then unlock to confirm programming. i paid $4.95 for these instructions i know is a bit late to post but if anybody can use it your saving your self $4.95

Keyless remote programming

I would check the owners manual for instructions on how to program the keyless remote. If you do not have one you can obtain it in PDF form from myford.fordvehicles.com and print out the pages you need. There are a series of 4 steps you need to complete to program it.
The key has 5 positions...
you need to turn from the number 2 position (Lock) to the number 3 (off) then cycle from the number 3 (off) to Number 4 (on) and back 8 times within 10 seconds.
The dorrs will unlock/lock to confi4rm that programming mode has entered.
Within 20 seconds... click any button on your remote.
Still with-in 20 seconds turn the key to 3 (off) position and the doors will lock/unlock to sungal exiting programming. Then test it.
If you have memory seats program all the transmitters at once. The first one will do memory position 1 then 2... etc..

Hope that helps.
