Some of my better 1:18 cars

The photo isn't too great here. I have to play around with my digcam settings & maybe pull out my tripod.

I'm a fan of FIA-GT and the American Le Mans cars which accounts for my tastes.

I've "rented" my other cars to my son since he's got more shelf space than I do. I really have to figure out some sort of a display set-up (nothing too expensive though) to park my rides.

I just got my UT McLaren today & I'm a happy cat!!

Hey Simon,

Sounds like you have a decent collection. Do you have a link to pics of your cars? I just found a Maisto CLK-GTR (silver) for about US$13 on eBay which I'm pretty happy about.

In comparing Maisto's cars with the two AutoArt ones I have (the Corvette C5-R and Viper), I can now see the huge difference in paint quality. But then again, my pockets aren't so deep that I can be scooping up many AutoArt cars!

OT: karting sounds like fun! I've yet to try it out. I want to try autocrossing too some time this Fall.

Cheers from Canada!

I love all of your cars Great choices!

Remove those toys and books and make more room for a sweet looking professional display!

ill sort out as many as i can...

the only problem i have with the CLK was that there were visible flash lines on the body, i might have just got a dodgy one though.

im sure autoart is better than maisto (and Bburago, which it looks like you hvae a few of), but thanks to my expensive hobbie, i have not much money to spend on die-casts.

let us know if you do a bit of autocrossing, im sure you will enjoy it, but karting is the closest to a pure racing experience.

Wow! Sweet collection!! Thx also for posting pics of your Warsteiner CLK GTR. I just found one off eBay (Privat D2) for US$14. I repainted the red hoses/air ducts on my CLK GTR (Original-Teile) looks. I found the red on that model too orangy so I re-painted with some "blood red" acrylic paint. I'll post a pic when I take a decent picture of it.

Definitely a good suggestion but....it's my son's shelf. If I clear out his books & junk, he might kick me in the kneecaps. But your point's well-taken; a better display is sorely needed.

Mine's Maisto also. The quality is pretty good. I just wished it was wearing slicks though and the rubber on the tires are less glossy.
