reliable?

Im looking at buying a 1996 BMW M3 with 60k miles on it, and i was wondering how reliable these cars are....as you can see im not to affluent with bmw's since ive been driving a 300zx for 3 years, and now a shitty ass beretta . So if you guys could tell me anything that would help me along, it would be appreicated.

There are no real problem areas in the car but as with any car things will brake and or need to be replaced. Brakes, O2 sensors, clutches, etc. BMWs are expensive and M parts about about 20% more than that, just a warning, maintenance is espensive. Not frequent, but when something happens it is usually 500-1000 to fix no matter how small.
