1999 Taurus Compute Module Location
Where is the location of the computer module on my '99 SE? I need to get the factory set keyless entry code.

Re: 1999 Taurus Compute Module Location
its mounted in a slot in the firewall on the passenger side accessible from the engine bay. I'm not quite sure you'll be able to get the code from pulling it out though.

Re: Same question
The module is buried in the instrument panel. It is tough to read the code. I could never do it.
However, you can pull the code off the module using one of those slick devices that you plug in the the cars computer to read engine fault codes. A friend of mine had one and he pulled the code off for me. Quote:

Thanks for the advice, but I contacted a dealer who told me the module is located under the dash directly above the gas (accelerator) pedal. You need a mirror to view the code since the label is taped on the side of the computer that you cannot see.
