Carl Beal's F1 (#42) Has Been Spotted!!! Pics To Prove It

McLaren F1 chassis number 42, is reported to be owned by Carl Beal, this F1 was lent to Road & Track. It has been spotted in a parking lot in an unknown state. It is in Base Silver and is reported to be made in 1995. Carl Beal and his female companion hopped in the car, he is reported to be tall and it looks like a tight fit when he is sitting in it. It appears to have a decal on the top of the windsheild. These are poor quality pictures because they were taken with a Sony Clie NR70V. The date in the corner reads June 16th, 2002. Man, that thing just sticks out like a sore thumb in that parking lot. I wonder what store the lot belongs to.

Midland, TX to be exact. He owns an oil company and runs the "god is awesome" racing team. Car is nice, seen it in person.

I saw the God is Awesome sticker on the right side of the car (rear orientation) and also noticed that the car sports a jesus fish on the back. I have a pic of it in the 'Fast Exspenive Cars 2003' Calendar. The liscense plate reads 'M Laren'

Not sure when he got a new liscense plate, car has been broken for over a year now i'm pretty sure it's been. Broke the tranny unfortunately and he said it's an 80k+ fix. That's why he got the murcielago. I'll look through my pics and see if i find any with that liscense plate.

I have photos that show both plates 'M LAREN' and 'MCLAR N'. The second one appears to be the original plate he had for it because those pictures are from the 1997 Road & Track article. The shots of his car with the first plate were taken within the past few years when he displayed the car at a local car show.

The funnier thing is, I think he meant to quote my post about the Road&Track article which he was replying right after, so there would have been no need to quote anyway. Let's see if he can find that edit button.

Someone make me or Peloton a mod. We could condense everything here to one page's worth of links and gossip!

Hey Will-
There's one other thing you could check out for us - it would be a big help. I don't recall where the info came from, but we have #042 listed as the chassis number for this car which would make it a 1995 model. However, the Road&Track magazine article refers to the car as a 1997 McLaren F1, and a small sign that the Beal's placed next to the car at that show in the Midland auditorium also listed it as a 1997. So, I have a strong suspicion that Beal's car isn't really #042. I wish I knew where that number came from as the source of that info might also help to confirm or deny it's accuracy.

Thanks in advance!

I dont know i know he said that he ordered it in 95 (pretty sure) but it took 2 years for delivery and the body tag says 97. I'll check for certain. Where would i look for the chassis number, so i can make sure i get the right one when i'm there.

The chassis number on all McLaren F1s can be found on a small plaque mounted on top of the right tunnel ahead of the shifter which also houses the key hole.

Here's an example as seen on Mr. Selldorff's #007:

Re: Carl Beal's F1 (#42) Has Been Spotted!!! Pics To Prove It

I think that picture was taken at the movie theater in Abilene or San Angelo. If you want any info on the car you can E-mail Randy at ([email protected]) he has the car. Yes, it is broken, the main shaft broke when I did a burn out. The tires hopped and that was it. I lost 1,2,3,4 forward gears. Mclaren wanted us to ship it to them and they would exchange it for $80 to $90. We elected to have Liberty Gears repair it. It should be completed around the end of Dec. We asked him to just get to it when he could. Hope this helps, if you need anything else let me or Randy know. Thanks, Carl.
