For turbo/supercharger or nitrous please don't do the vafc hack. You'll make a lot more power with a good standalone.

<--- Hondata S200 with everything, including palmlogger. Great feature, lets you keep track of everything going on without dragging a laptop into the car all the time.

I am buying a standalone from Relentless Racing. Much better than the VAF-C. It isn't a bad piggyback, but I would rather have something with a little more control.

Hondata is kind of on the expensive side though right? DOes benefits out weigh the costs difference?

Dude, a base S200 is 300 bucks. S200 with boost is 500 bucks, and it's about 5x better than the AFC hack. AFC only controls fuel and is a very crude way of adding fuel, and will have trouble idling bigger injectors. You also need to use a missing link so that your map sensor doesn't give you issues. Sure, for 500 bucks you can't datalog, or tune it yourself, but as long as you arn't constantly changing things you just need to get it tuned once, get a few gauges and run with it.

yea, i did some more research and your right about the features and customization, but im in a 98 gsr so im gonna need a new ECU and the harness to go with it so im probably looking at around 1200 all said and done, its not exactly spare change when compared to a 300 buck vtec and air fuel controller, but then for the most part from what i've read, it is worth it so i guess i just have to save, up, thanks for the input people........
