Question {stock} 04 SI vs. Spec-V

I've read in many forums that the stock spec-v can send the stock SI home crying every time they honk 3 times. LOL I've even read that up against the RSX S it all comes down to the driver. I just sold my 98 civic and ordered an 04 spec-v. The best thing about the spec_v is the price. For $17,00 + $6,000 in mods = 275hp = price of wrx, rsx! Comments? Questions? Thoughts?

the spec-V's are nice but a wrx or evo will still kick your ass. If i were you i would have just bought one of those if you are looking for hp. and they are turbo which means much more power for cheap. just my two cents worth

umm he'll be much faster then a WRX for the price of one, as he says he willl have 275HP, that will smoke a WRX. lol and evo's are in the mid 30 g's range. About twice as much as a spec-v! Having a turbo you can also have turbo lag, plus you can always add a turbo to the spec-v!

Why is this not in the Nissan forums? Just had to brag to Honda owners huh? So what if you can get 275 for 23K. Give me 23K and I guarantee that I can make a Honda lay down at least 500hp. So you got a 17K car that has the potential. You already had the same with your 98 Civic for less than half the price.

I didn't know about the spec until my friends SI with intake/exhaust got smoked by one. He knows how to drive too. All I gotta say is that up until that point the civic ruled for cars under 20k! Nissan re-defines sentra se-r and it rips. The only downfall to it is the torque-steer. Forget mods for the moment and just compare them stock. The spec is pulling low 15's 1/4 and 0-60 in 7.3. pretty impresive.

Big deal . My boy bought his 96 hatch for 6g's and his USDM C5 for 4g's and kills the shit out of Spec V's even with his body kit. You can jock is at my homepage. Overall, 10g's spent will kill any Spec V NA modded or not and there is no way in hell you can get a Spec V for 10. Forget the hype and stick to basics.

true the spec-v will beat the rex in a 1/4 mile run, definately. however in a 0-60, it's a close match. a scuby has that thing called an AWD system which equals to no burn outs, aka a good jump start. standard scub (2.5 rs) off the lot will have about 165/165 hp/tq and a spec-v off the lot will have 175/180 hp/tq. as for the price, the scub will hurt u an extra 2k. so its all abou the drive on that one. ive seen plenty of lower hp cars beat high hp cars. the civic vs. the corvette for example...seen it...plus a scub is just fun to run in the mud. btw if u buy the spec-v, plan to replace the seats and check your engine oil every week. many things go wrong real quick on spec-v's.

i pull low 15s in the quarter. if you wanted the car that rules the under 20k class, you got gypped. the SRT4 runs low 14s, for only a few dollars more than you paid for your car.

stock 99-2000 and 2003 Si run 15.7-15.8 1/4..........0-60 7.4.........ask anyone who knows and they will back this up........i have a 00 Si and ran with a Spec-v........it pulls in 1st and 2nd, but then after that my Si started to pull on him........Spec-V have a lot of low end torque......but the torque curve blows which is why i can pull on the top end of second and through third..........over all though the Spec-V will out run the Si in a longer race due to the extra horse power and more displacement.......but you probably sav a little on insurance since it's a four door.......and no a stock Spec-V will not out run a stock wrx ever......i don't care who is driving
