When i start my car for the first time or when it's been sitting for a couple hours especially in cold days i get a rough ass idle. When it's in park it feel like the whole engine is shaking. It's loud in the inside but u could barley notice it outside. If i push down on the hood it stops the vibrating. But when the car is warmed up it goes away. Also when i reverse on cold starts it does the same thing. but if i put it into drive the vibrating stops and the car runs normall. does anyone know what this is. I'm thinking its one of my motor mounts.

How many miles? Motor mounts definatly would help. Also, check your base idle, it may be too low that can cause vibration. If you have an auto, make sure you check the trans mount too.

it could also be your MAF. you might have to reground it, search the SE-R archives and it will tell you if you need to.

well, i finally took it back to the dealership to have it checked out. i told them to check my mounts and they looked through the whole car top and bottom for about 2 1/2 hours and they saw nothing wrong. they said everything is on tight and the way it should be. They told me that my problem could be my exhust shields that are vibrating during cold start. but i still think there is something else cause it never did it before and if it was the exhaust shields rattling it would have been doing it from the start i beleive. I think its time for a second opinion.
