Would anyone have any details on how to replace the fuel filter on a 2000 Suburban. Just bought a pre-owned 2000 and the it takes a couple of tries to start it.

Fuel filter is on the inside of the left frame rail just under the drivers door.
That is probally not going to fix your starting problem....try cleaning the throttle body.

Re: Fuel Filter 2000 Suburban
The fuel filter is probably down on the frame rail underneath the drivers side almost directly straight below the door. Crawl under and look within the framerail itself, a metal "cannister" type filter should be attached there. Release the pressure in the fuel line and then remove/replace it.
Hope this helps. jbhorning |

Re: Fuel Filter 2000 Suburban
The fuel filter on my '94 is where the others posted. Just be aware that the wrench sizes for this are 16mm and 20mm (but could be one of those and an 18mm, can't remember), sizes not normally in wrench sets. Some may believe that GM designed that to extract more money from owners without those tools, but they'd probably say it was for "fire safety".
