engine cross reference
I have a 95 buick lasabre, I was told the engine was locked up. It has 200,000 mi. on it. I want to put another engine in it and need to know what all will fit. 3.8 vinL 3800

The `95 LeSabre was built in the H-body platform. Unless you want to go smaller (and older), the best choice is to replace the engine with a 3.8L V6 from a similar year vehicle (Bonneville or Eighty-Eight are also on that platform). It would take more effort, but you could adapt the supercharged version to your car. Whatever you do, don't go for a 1996 or newer engine since they're OBD-II and would be much more complicated to transplant into your car.

95 LaSabre
Hudson,
I wouldn't mind going older, I need to go cheeper and easier. I have found some out of 92 modles but don't if they will fit without a lot of changes. Thanks for the reply |
