Sunroof switch?

i have an 89 crx si with a sunroof, my sunroof will open but when i try to close it i have to manualy close it, i was thinking that it was the switch is this correct or would that be the motor? is there any way of finding out?

I would say switch most likely then relay second.

Have you taken the switch out and actually cleaned it up? Clean up the connectors. Mine would open, but wouldn't shut for a while, I cleaned it up, works fine!

yeah definetely replace the switch first.

mine is like that.. cept, it only does it when im trying to open the roof... u gotta press it just the *right* way. lol

Weird... I'm having the exact same problem.

Anyways, I tried to get the switch out to clean it and look at it, and I can get the bottom clip to pop, but the top of the switch won't come loose from the mount... Any tricks for this?

I had to reach way up there behind the dash and pretty much force it to pop out. Got a couple scratches on the arm, but nothin you can do.

I dunno about you guys but whenever i need to fix somthing on my car it wont work untill i draw blood.

The switch pops out by pushing from behind.

yeah the switch was a real pain to get out. i was getting really pissed at it....


but yeah.. i put a screwdriver up in behind it.. then hit the screwdriver with a hammer

Orm you can carefully slide a small thin screwdriver on the top of it and when you push from behind lever the driver in front.
