Hi,
My 1988 Buick LeSabre - 130,000 miles, stalled on me after hesitating. I could start it again but it would stall when I would put it on drive. Now it does not start anymore, it cranks, but does not start. I have a code 39 on the computer for the Torque Converter Clutch ... I have read somewhere that it may be just the solenoid inside the TCC that would not work an maybe keep the TCC locked !? Anybody had the same problem ? I wonder how much this is going to cost me ... Thanks for your input. Xman |

I don't think the torque converter cause the car to stall ( as in shut down?) and not to start..It would be something like the crank sensor or the ignition module or coil pack etc..did you ever get it fixed?

I finally sold the car. I just started it a couple days after and everything was working fine. So I went ahead and traded it in for a new truck I wanted, before it would go bad again ... So I will never know the answer ! But I will get the truck tomorrow ! |
