Question Lamborghini Kits

Hi there. Pretty new to this model stuff. I'm wondering if there's any kits in production for the Lamborghini Diablo GT, GTR or of the Lamborghini Murcielago? If not, are there any other Diablo kits in particular that anyone can recommend?

Thanks.

i know tamiya did a lambo countach LP500s that was in their catalog at least until 1999 (thats the last catalog i bought) it ref. #24006, so it is a really early tamiya model. Its probably out of production now though, but you might be able to find it somewhere.

No Diablo GT or GTR kit. The SV 96 (early body with retractable headlight) is due this December though. That will take care of the SE wing, too.

As for Murcielago, there is Maisto's diecast body kit in 1/24, and it's a decent model. I'm thinking of using the body of Gate r/c, and make an all plastic model.

Fujimi is the best one, and it's the only kit with open door, but the engine room is not see through. (i.e. engine is partially detailed.) Revell Snap kit Diablo VT is very good, and it has a complete engine and transmission assembly. Revell also makes the Roadster, but it's a promo quality, and needs some work to make it look right, for example filled side intake louvers. Italeri also make one in 1/24 scale, and the engine is treated just like Fujimi.

All of them are early 2WD version. Italeri also makes MY99 Diablo, the one with 300ZX headlight.

Not Diablo, but Fujimi's enthusiast series Countach is a must have and build for lambo fans.

AMT made a kit of the Diablo a few years back that you may be able to still find. Unfortunatly I can't recommend it unless you plan to do alot of "reconstructive surgery". But, if built right, it can look attractive.

I thought AMT's Diablo was rated as one of the worst model they made.
My friend and a big time lambo fan was so pissed off, and I didn't even bother buying. (besides that, it's 1/25 scale)
On the other hand, Fujimi, Revell and Italeri makes decent Diablo kits.
Fujimi claims that the upcoming Diablo SV is an all new, but I kinda doubt it. Still, I hope they update the rocker panel, so that the intake is accurate for the VT and other special Diablos.

I still remember this NIGHTMARE!

I remember the nine-month delay in the release date. I remember my pre-order for two of them and the anticipation for the kit. I also remember the sinking feeling upon opening the kit and seeing all that USELESS plastic sitting there in the box.

Believe me, "PISSED OFF" seems too slight for words . . .lol

One good thing to come of it was the New Hampshire tags, which remains to this day, the only part ever used from this AMT nightmare . . .

Waiting with baited breath for that Diablo SV from Fujimi. It looks very swank! God I hope its as good a kit as it looks in the pictures...
