325IS vs. 328IS

What's up everyone.

I'm going to purchase a used 3 series this week (hopefully). I'm kinda stuck between the 328IS & the 325IS, cause the 325 is about $5000 cheaper, and yet I know that the 328 is more powerful and has other upgrades (And we all know why people buy BMW, it's all about the performance). So my quiestion is, How much of a difference is there between those 2 cars? Is it drastic or not too noticable. I would like to have a couple of opinions & I appreciate your help.

there is not much difference between the two, same car pretty much with the same body style. major difference are:

1. 325is - 2.5L I6 VANOS engine with OBD I about 189hp and 184 tq
2. 328is - 2.8L I6 VANOS engine with OBD II about 190hp and 206 tq

328is did not come out until 96 and was produced until late 98
325is did not come out until 93 and was produced until late 95

basically the 328is has more tq, but not much diff in the hp gain. the 328is comes with more lux options than the 325is, but if you want to just get a car to get around, I would recommend getting the 94-95 325is, but the 95's are hard to find because people try to buy those and make them into fake M3's good luck.

Hey not that this means much but i just got a 94 BMWIS this week and am definitely pleased. The power is amazing thats all i can say.......The car is mint and when im on the freeway i'll be driving maby 80mph and it seems like im going 60mph.....Just cruising not trying to be a hero or anything. But i am definitely impressed with the 325is. Never driving a 328 and im sure it's more, look at it this way either way you will come out with an amazing car, 1 with more luxury and the other maby possibly more sportier. Good luck!
