Unhappy Help! 1998 Ranger XLT Electrical Problem

My husband and I purchased this truck as is 4 weeks ago. We are experiencing intermittent problems with the windows and the CD player/Clock. Sometimes the windows won't open, period. Other times they will open but then will not close. Our CD player works most of the time but occasionally it goes dead, the clock display disappears and teh clock actually has to be reset afterwards because it has lost time. It is not being caused by blown fuses. The CD/Clock problem may be related to a loose ignition switch on the steering column. It is very loose. Could the windows problem be related to this loose ignition switch too? Has anyone had this problem and if you have how did you fix it? We have the Chiltons book but cannot find a wiring diagram for the windows etc that looks anything like our 1998. I sthere one online we can look at? We had the door lock problem as well but fixed that thanks to this forum. We love our truck, but man, this problem is driving us nuts! All helpful suggestions gratefully received.

It sounds like a loose connection. Check the wiring at the radio and try to folllow it to the fuse box. Check the black wire(ground) for loose connection also.

yeah, check the wiring on the cd player, it is very possible that the person who installed it did a crappy job, or that one of the connections came loose... keep in mind that the two problems may be different
