Cool I need some help please.....im new at this

Hi all,

I'm a new member and 17 years old. I want to put a cobra 19 DX III Mobile CB into my 1997 Chevy Lumina. Does anyone have any ideas of the best way to install it or where to put it? Another concern of mine is that i dont want to drill holes for an antenna. I have read some other posts from people on here and saw that i can get a magnetic antenna. Does that involve any wiring or is it wireless? All of this might sound kind of dumb to you all but i have no idea what im doing so i thought I could come here for some help. Another thing is that im looking to purchase off of Ebay do you have any other places i could shop around at for the cheapest prices.

Thanks

The mag mounts are wired, but you can make them tempif you wish. Just put the antenna up when you want to use the CB, and sotw it in the trunk when not in use. Just make sure not to transmit with no antenna attached.

Yep... every once and a while (every 2 days or so), remove the magnet and wipe the car surface underneath and the bottom of the magnet. Condensation that stays trapped between the magnet and the car's finish could cause discoloration of the paint.

You shouldn't put anything between the magnet and the metal of the car (nylon, cloth, etc) because it destroys the ground plane and your transmit won't be worth (does not apply to all antennas though).
