sketch wars #1 (more to come soon i hope)....

well i was introduced to 3d fights in which everyone battle time to create the best work they could off of one item. So is said to myself why not do the same for or sketch forums (with the quick time limits we hopefully can have more activity on the board)

This comps. objective is to draw this s2000, but in cartoon style, and when i say cartoon style i mean cartoon style (twist the body some, make oversized wheels, make it look alive).

here is the subject (remember this is just the subject, you can choose what rims what colors and decals and body kits you want for the car but it must be in the same angle as the pic) ohh yeah the time limit is 20 mins (don't cheat now )

have to try drawing in persperctive first , though... otherwise i could draw it in a try to archieve the looking of the real one and it would be so skewed because i am not yet good at drawing prespective, that it would like a comic

I'll give you guys a hint... Vee-Tech Type R Carbon Fiber Ed. + Naawz! I hate Hondas and rice and I dont know anything about it so I did the best I could making a cartoon riced out car.

This is a great idea for a comp, but I would change the format:

Find a time, say Saturday afternoon, when everyone's around. Then, Monday, you announce that the cometition will open Saturday at 2. Then, you get a big bunch of people to enter the cometition during the week, but the 1:55 on Sat. you announce the style, angle and the car, then at 2:20, you will judge all of them, this way the comp doesn't start till you have enough people. So you tell everyone what it'll be (cartoon, abstract etc) suring the week, so it builds the hype. People are sitting at the computers come Saturday afternoon, the see the criteria, and they run off to their desks and start drawing. Come 2:20, you close the competition and get someone to judge the competition, judging the pics that were posted in as posts. This way everyone gets a fair chance. But you can only reveal the car at 2, or a bit before. If you do decide to go with this method of competition, please PM if you need help. I think that it'd work a lot better than the current format. Like with this comp, no one even posted anything within the 20 minutes. This way, you can build it up, have many entrees and then they all go and draw on the Saturday. If you don't want to run this kind of comp, then I will run it.

i like your idea AnsisK i'll give it a try. As for what to do when you are finished... just PM it to me stating that it is your final entry. The judging will be done in another topic with a poll. (you can vote for your self)

the contest's deadline is on thursday after that no more submissions and on friday everyone will have a chance to vote.

as for me i just finished drawing something else i was working on so i'll enter too.

Sounds great. For all of those who also like my idea, check out th ecompetition #2. By no means withdraw from this one, keep at it here, but also try out my format, then we can see which one is funner. Good luck all!
