Civic Si Front Lip and Rear Bumper
I have a 1996 Honda Civic Ex coupe, and I want to change the front lip/bumper and rear bumber on my car. I was particually attracted to the Civic Si Front lip and rear bumber.
Is it possible to add one onto my EX? How much would both of them run for? Would it be a pain to add on....just bolt on, or would many body mods be needed? |

Yeh...the SI front lip is really attractive....with it's nice little "flare" to it.

The 96-98 Civic and 99-00 have different front ends. The headlights, bumper, hood and fenders are different. You'd need all that. The rear bumper is the same so why swap em?

from what ive heard, it is NOT a direct bolt on...in addition, you cannot just remove the lip portion from the Si and bolt it on your 96-98. i have been through this personally. i bought CTR replica lip off ebay, and it wasnt even close to fitting. no hardware, no holes drilled, nothing. eventually i tracked down an SiR lip designed for 96-98's and painted it and my skirts to match. looks VERY close to the Si lip. i can post some pics if you two want... also, not to gripe, but the rear bumpers of 96-98 and 99-00 are a little different. AFAIK, the 99-00 rear bumper has like a mini-built in lip on it, while the 96-98 is smooth along the bottom. hope that helps...

to the untrained eye they look the same (well to me anyway). i have only seen pics on the net. i havent had the chance to look at my car side by side w/ a 99/00 SI. soon i hope! thanks for the info! im not sure im gonna do the swap. if it doesnt bolt on then im not sure its really worth the $$$ for me to change it. i would much rather have a STOCK front lip than an aftermarket one. i have a wings west type r lip and i dont really like it. it is for sale, brand new too! again, thanks for the info.

Which company
can you tell me which company sold you this knockoff CTR lip, because i was *this* far away from buying one before i read your thread. I have a 97 civic cx and i'm trying to buy all the "type r" aero equipment, lips, spoiler etc, and i keep seeing all of it for really cheap on ebay. Are you saying that i shouldn't buy any of it?

Why even buy the CTR knock off and take the chance of bad fitment. I just bought the OEM Si lip for my girls car which is closer to the real CTR than those knock offs. Got it for 60 bucks. 250 for a knock off is a rip off. I know for all you 96-98 owner this just leaves you SOL but the 99-00 front end is nicer anyways. Just be patient and get a conversion.
