Whats it take to run low 13's?

Whats it take to keep up with a very lightly bolt on'ed LS1 from a roll????

Edit: Oops.. forgot to mention that I'm basing this question off stock 5.0's with manual trans.

A good h/i/c combo, very low (atleast 3.73's) set of gears out back, full exhaust, all the bolt-ons, et streets, one hell of a good driver, and last but not least a lot of luck (to walk an LS1 that is).

Low 13's in a mustang is pretty easy with just exhaust, a 3.73 gear and bolt-ons.

You want a pretty cheap way to outrun LS1's? JYTT baby. ALl it takes is a set of 200 dollar shorties, flip em upside down, cut the header flanges off with a chop saw, weld on a T3 flange, throw 2 junk yard T3's on there, rig up some piping and go to an intercooler if you want (powerstroke with new end tanks and cut down works nice) and get a good tune or swap to a carb and you'll run those LS1's down Can be done for a bit over a grand if you know how to barter.

JYTT good stuff but you gotta know what your doing with turbos not everyone does not saying anyone doesn't though. Id say I/H/E gears 3.73s and a cam should do it good light wheels and tires never hurt either.

Look to about a grand for the heads, maybe five hundred for the intake and two hundred and fifty for the cam. Or you can just do a mild port job on the E7TEs or whatever set of heads you got and spray the mofo.

How do you identify the type of heads you have?
are they the best ones for stock?
and what do you mean by spraying like a coating inside the ports?

If you have a 5.0, yes.

Pull off the head. There should be a casting number.

Compared to the 82 heads and 85 heads, yeah. But marginally.

When anyone uses the term 'spray' and liberally at that, he or she probably means using the 'nitro' (lol) and juicing your car with like a 100 shot or something.
