1996 Silverado Keyless Entry Module (where is it?)

Guys,

I purchased a 1996 Silverado Z71 a few weeks ago and it didn't have keyless entry remotes.

I called the local dealership to verify if it had keyless entry, they ran the VIN and said it did. They then gave me the part number for the remotes..

The part number was: 15725422

So I picked one up on ebay, replaced the batteries, tried both ways to program the remote using the Data Link Connector.

1st way was I grounded Plug #8 and the doors locked/unlocked to tell me they were in program mode. Still the remote didn't program.

So I tried the other way (connecting Plug #4 to Plug #8 with a jumper wire) and still nothing.

That leaves me with 3 options.

1. THe remote is bad.
2. The Truck doesn't have keyless entry like the dealership told me
3. I have the wrong remote.

My question for you all after reading this looong post is where is the Keyless Entry Reciever Module located on the 1996 models and what does it look like?

i'm new here myself,but i have the same problem but with a 1995 z71 cant find the module or dlc what ever you call it
