Does someone care to discuss the JWT ECU upgrade in detail ?

Would someone care to discuss/explain the upgraded JWT ECU for the 4th generation Maxima?

In detail how does the JWT ECU increase performance versus the stock ecu? Many times I read certain modifications free up horsepower, but do not actually make/produce it.

Does the JWT ECU upgrade actually produce more horsepower ?

Thanks for helping me understand this better !!

As far as I know it increases your redline from 6500-7000 or 7200. I would imagine that that would yield some extra Hp, but I'm not sure. I really don't know of anything else that it really does, but I'll look into it.

I guess they can pretty much program it any way you want. Looks like it could do a lot for power. I know that some guys get them when they get their MEVI to increase the time the butterflies are open...or something to that effect. Again, I don't really know.

JWT wil only do ecu modifications on obd-1 Maxima's. that's 1995 and older. you can check haltech or jet (which sucks balls).other than that you're SOL.

As far as I know JWT does increase HP by a factor of 10 and it is recommended that you add all of your mods prior to doing the ECU upgrade because the program that is written into the upgrade will help to enhance the mods you've added.

In other words if your Turbo'd then go ahead and send in your ECU rather than get the ECU and then go turbo.

Here's a little more info on the JWT ECU Upgrade:

The JWT ECU upgrade has been heavily tested for years and has proven itself with real world HP gains and extreme reliability. Clark Steppler is the man behind the ECCS ECU modifications. He is one of the few people in the world with enough knowledge about this and all Nissan ECUs to give you maximum power and flexibility. If you really want to know how good someone is at programming Nissan code, ask a few questions like; "Can you provide me with a program for bigger injectors?" "Can you change Mass Air Flow sensors when I need more power?" "Are power gains only at wide open throttle or are there increases in daily drivability?" "Can I add ECU controlled nitrous?" Jim Wolf Technology answers YES to every one of these questions. Due to the amount of Nissan ECUs JWT can modify please call for specific details and customization features.

Requires your stock ECU as a core. Please call to set up ECU exchange (480) 926-5453.

My turbo max

I live in Saskatoon, (Canada) I recently had my ecu programmed at JWT to meet the rest of my turbo max's needs, so far I have problems however Jim seems to be willing to work out the bugs to hold up his rep. I have a 1995 maxima powered by a garret T04 turbo , it's intercooled, and has almost everything from JE forged pistons to 555cc nismo injectors,Z32 maf , beefed auto trany etc, etc, etc, it's running off 15-25lbs boost. My egt is off the charts, any suggestions??
